Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools seeks a Paraeducator, Learning Support, with bilingual Spanish/English preferred. This 6.5-hour-per-day, 9-month, one-on-one position is non-exempt and supports students under a certificated teacher's guidance.

Responsibilities include assisting with reading, writing, math, and social skills, collecting progress data, and using adaptive technologies. Prior experience with children in schools is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, transcripts or credits may be requested.
• Official transcripts or ParaPro results may be required with application.
• One year of related experience with children in school setting preferred.
• Experience in educational team environments is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist a student one-on-one under teacher supervision.
• Support student learning in reading, writing, math, and social/behavioral skills.
• Maintain confidentiality and adapt tasks as directed by certificated staff.
• Use technology to collect data and support IEP goals.
• Attend training to better support students with special needs.
• Lead small groups or individualized instruction as assigned.
