Gastromed, LLC seeks a Care Coordinator to greet patients at checkout and coordinate their care with friendly, prompt assistance. The role includes reviewing physician orders, scheduling procedures, and handling patient communications to ensure smooth visits and accurate records.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and preferred bilingual English/Spanish capabilities with experience in a medical setting. Strong organizational and HIPAA-compliant behavior are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred; must be able to read, write and speak English.
• 2-3 years of related experience in a medical setting preferred.
• Demonstrates skill in using PCs, EMR systems, and authorization systems with minimal errors.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients at checkout and provide friendly assistance.
• Review physician orders and provide patients with instructions.
• Schedule procedures (endoscopy, colonoscopy, ancillary), as needed.
• Inform patients if clearance is required for procedures.
• Coordinate diagnostic test orders and referrals as directed by physician.
• Scan superbills/documents to patient charts and ensure accurate entries.
• Ensure patients are checked out and ECW daily close-out reports are accurate.
• Inform patients about referrals or authorizations required for visits.
• Answer incoming calls professionally and courteously according to script.
• Maintain professional conduct and adherence to company policies.
