Job summary

Access Community Health Network is a mission-driven health network delivering community care in Chicago. We seek a Medical Assistant to join a collaborative care team, assist providers with on-site procedures, take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and vaccinate patients, and support patients with questions and scheduling.

You will advance clinical knowledge through comprehensive training, including Epic EMR, and may work evenings and Saturdays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program required.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Minimum of one year experience or clinical externship.
• Basic proficiency with EMR; Epic preferred.
• Ability to work some evenings and Saturdays.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a care team to provide quality health services and resources.
• Assist providers with onsite procedures.
• Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and vaccinate patients.
• Assist patients by responding to questions, returning calls, scheduling appointments and reviewing medical records.
• Grow knowledge through extensive clinical and technical training with Epic EMR.

Position Summary

• Work in collaboration with a skilled care team that includes dedicated providers, benefits specialists, front desk receptionists, behavioral health consultants and others to provide quality health services and resources to meet our patients' needs.
• Assist providers with onsite procedures.
• Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and administer medications/vaccines directly to patients.
• Assist patients by responding to questions, returning calls, scheduling appointments and reviewing medical records.
• Continue to grow your knowledge base through extensive clinical training and technical training with Epic, one of the leading Electronic Medical Record Systems globally.

Requirements

• HighSchool diploma or equivalent

The pay ranges provided represent the minimum to mid-range for positions. Actual compensation will be determined based on a combination of factors including years of experience, educational background, market conditions, and available grant funding.
