Job summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance, and operations. The role will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and lead team members in servicing customers.

Qualifications

• Must have Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification and RSS Certification.
• Fluency in multiple languages, with Spanish highly desired.
• Experience in leading store teams and coaching employees.

Responsibilities

• Lead store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom to include team member execution on customer service programs.
• Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed during peak hours.
• Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback on goal achievement, coaching/mentoring team members, and ensuring training up-to-date.
• Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to ensure qualified hires.
• Make sure telephone is answered according to company policy.
• Ensure all buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders are processed timely and customers contacted upon shipment arrivals as needed.
• Utilize electronic outside purchase order ledger to ensure special orders and outside purchases are handled efficiently and according to procedure.
• Ensure retail customer returns and exchanges are processed efficiently and refunds issued correctly.
• Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, are invoiced before product leaves the store.
• Ensure Zipline messages are communicated, and Image Maker and merchandising tasks are delegated and completed.
• Ensure team members comply with schedule adherence and clock in/out protocols.
• Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures and securing money/deposits per policy.
• Assist in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, hardware, service/equipment, and vehicles.
• All other duties as assigned.
