Job summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in sales, customer service, and store operations. This role leads the team and runs the store in the manager’s absence, with a focus on exceptional customer care and efficient store execution.

Qualifications

• Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification and RSS Certification are required.
• Certified Parts Professional Certification and ASE Certification are desirable.
• Fluency in multiple languages, Spanish highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom to include team member execution on customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc…).
• Work with the store manager to ensure staffing at the retail sales counter during peak hours (lunch, late-afternoon, evenings, weekends).
• Assist the store manager in setting goals, coaching and mentoring team members, and ensuring training compliance.
• Assist in recruiting tasks, interviewing, candidate evaluation and collaboration with management to hire qualified staff.
• Ensure telephone is answered according to company policy.
• Process all buy online/ship to store, hub and store transfers, and DC add orders timely and inform customers on shipment arrivals.
• Manage outside orders and special purchases efficiently according to procedure.
• Process returns and exchanges efficiently with correct refunds.
• Ensure merchandise is invoiced before leaving the store.
• Communicate Zipline messages and delegate merchandising tasks.
• Enforce adherence to posted work schedule and clock-in/out policies.
• Perform opening/closing duties and day-end procedures including money handling and security checks.
• Maintain store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, hardware, and delivery vehicles.
• All other duties as assigned.
