Job summary

Jewish Family & Children's Service of Arizona is seeking an Intake Specialist for the Customer Service Referral Center to handle calls seeking behavioral health and medical services, verify eligibility, and schedule initial intake appointments.

The role requires clear data entry, ability to verify funding sources, and coordination across sites. Strong communication skills and familiarity with NextGen EMR are valued assets.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong bilingual ability in Spanish and English preferred.
• Experience in eligibility and enrollment processes preferred.
• Experience with NextGen EMR is a plus.
• Previous customer service or call center experience desirable.
• Must obtain DPS fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

• Receives incoming calls.
• Determines whether requested services are available.
• Determines availability of funding source to support requested services.
• Schedules client appointments, verifies funding source data, and obtains required authorizations.
• Creates Referral Demographic documents in EHR system.
• Scans/Emails copies of faxed referrals and client information to the various sites' receiving parties.
• Remains aware of agency Intake capacity limits and assists clients with accessing appropriate outside resources.
• Performs other related job tasks as assigned.
• Schedules Transportation when necessary.
• Conducts reminder calls for appointments.
