Job summary

SugarCreek Packing Co. in Ohio seeks an HR Specialist to administer policies, programs and procedures across HR activities.

You will assist with hiring, maintain accurate paperwork, and translate between English and Spanish to ensure clear communication with employees. In addition, you will support onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and basic HRIS usage while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• 1+ year HR experience or training.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
• Experience with HRIS and standard software (MS Office).
• Strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Plant HR team with recruiting, interviewing and recommending applicants for hire.
• Translate English to Spanish for meetings, training sessions and daily communication with employees.
• Translate documents and training materials from English to Spanish as needed.
• Plan and conduct new employee orientations to foster a positive work environment and explain company goals.
• Inform HR Manager and Plant Management of employee relations issues.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, programs and procedures.
• Assist with administration of vacation, sick leave, leaves of absence and FMLA for all employees.
• Prepare employee separation notices and conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
• Prepare new hire orientation documentation packets and ensure completion in compliance with laws.
• Assist IT in issuing ID badges and updating software when changes occur.
• Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions and ensure compliance.
• Comply with policies and safety initiatives.
