Elevate Patient Financial Solutions in Lufkin, TX is seeking a Hospital Based Bilingual Patient Advocate to assist uninsured hospital patients with Medicaid and other financial assistance programs. This full-time, onsite role involves bedside visits, completing applications, and coordinating with hospital staff and government agencies while communicating effectively in English and Spanish.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred, except when required by our client.
• Prior hospital experience preferred.
• Adaptability with changing processes, computer systems and government programs.
• Professional experience working with state and federal programs.
• Critical thinking skills.
• Ability to maneuver throughout the hospital and patients' rooms during shift.
• Proficient experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel and Outlook.
• Fluent in Spanish and English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to multitask to meet performance metrics in a fast-paced environment.
• Dress code compliance with client requirements.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilidades

• Screen uninsured hospital patients at bedside to determine eligibility for federal/state programs.
• Complete applications and follow through until approved.
• Document cases in MPower and hospital systems accurately and timely.
• Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
• Participate in ongoing trainings to apply updated knowledge.
• Maintain assigned work queue of patient accounts.
• Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, social workers, and financial counselors.
• Answer calls, make outbound calls, and track enrollment/renewal for Medicaid patients.
• Maintain regular contact with applicants and government agencies by phone.
• Assist applicants with gathering reports, arranging transportation, and meeting appointments.
• Request home visits as needed for documentation.
• Inform clients of approvals/denials of coverage in a timely manner.
• Attend required training on current rules and regulations.
• Maintain regular attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
