Job summary

Primary Health Care, Inc. (PHC) is seeking a Call Center Representative to handle incoming calls, schedule medical, behavioral health, and dental appointments, and route messages within PHC’s Des Moines clinics.

This on-site role provides patient-centered service and uses de-escalation when needed. You will collect and verify patient information in the EHR, assist with billing over the phone, and work with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Min 1 year healthcare/human services or 2 years customer service.
• Ability to communicate in English and Spanish verbally and in writing.
• Excellent customer service and commitment to service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming calls in a timely manner and navigates patients through the organization.
• Schedules medical, behavioral health, and dental appointments and monitors schedules for errors or overbooking.
• Collects, verifies and updates patient demographics, billing, and insurance information in the EHR.
• Follows protocols to screen and route calls and sends detailed messages in the EHR.
• Collects patient payments over the phone.
