Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks an Medical Support Specialist to ensure donor safety and support plasma collection operations. You will determine donor eligibility, monitor adverse events, review test results, and notify donors of unsuitable findings under medical guidance.

You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician, leveraging EMT background and EHS guidance to support regulatory compliance and safety protocols across the center.

Qualifications

• Licensed or certified EMT in the relevant state (EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P) or LPN/LVN or RN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including consent, history, physicals, SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Consult Center Physician or Medical Affairs for abnormal findings or guidance.
• Support vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS as needed.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized.
