Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services seeks skilled EMT professionals to determine donor eligibility and ensure donor safety in the plasma donation process. You will review medical histories, perform physical exams, and manage donor reactions under physician guidance.

Responsibilities include adherence to SOPs, coordination with Medical Affairs, and supporting vaccination and EHS programs. A two-year clinical background is valued, with state licensure in EMT/LPN/RN as applicable.

Qualifications

• Licensed or certified EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P, LPN/LVN, or RN in the relevant state
• CPR and AED certification current
• Meet state requirements for basic IV therapy
• Complete FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, and physical examination.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical/technical issues, donor safety, and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations as directed.
