Job summary

CSL in McAllen, Texas, is seeking a dedicatedpheresis technician to prepare donors, equipment, and the pheresis area for the procedure. You will monitor donors and the process, respond to alarms, document incidents, and support safety and data recording per SOPs.

Responsibilities include disconnecting donors after completion, maintaining clean work areas, and ensuring supplies. A high school diploma and at least 3 months' health-care related experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations

Responsibilities

• Prepares for pheresis: donor, donor area and equipment
• Prepares autopheresis machine for pheresis process
• Monitors the donor and pheresis process and responds to alarms or signals
• Disconnects the donor when the process is complete
• Maintains alertness to donor reactions and notifies staff as needed
• Uses PDA to record incidents during pheresis, links equipment to donor, and records data
• Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues
• Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic system per SOPs
• Maintains clean, efficient work environment and ensures supplies are available
• Follows HSE and OSHA policies and promotes safety
• Maintains confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information
• May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual skills may be required
