Job summary

Behavioral Health Network, Inc. (BHN) in Western Massachusetts is seeking a Central Intake Coordinator to join the Medication Intake Clinic Support team. You will be the first contact for individuals seeking behavioral health services, connecting them to BHN programs and resources with compassion and professionalism.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, at least 2 years in healthcare or intake, and proficiency with EHR systems. Bilingual ability in Spanish is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate/bachelor preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in healthcare or call center intake.
• Knowledge of mental health and substance use disorder treatment.

Responsibilities

• Engage individuals with professionalism and empathy to gather intake and medication-related information.
• Verify insurance information accurately and ensure documentation is complete and compliant.
• Schedule intake and medication appointments promptly and communicate expectations clearly.
• Coordinate with referral sources and BHN program staff to ensure timely follow-up and seamless transitions.
• Support triage, provide information and referrals, and identify when a case requires escalation.
• Maintain accurate electronic records and documentation in BHN’s systems.
• Assist callers in accessing the appropriate level of care and community resources.
• Promote a positive, efficient, and person-centered intake experience.
