Job summary

RiseBoro Community Partnership in New York, NY, is seeking a Housing Stabilization Specialist to coordinate services for participants, execute the service plan, and help prevent homelessness. You will collaborate with clients, families, supervisors and staff to address immediate housing crises, monitor progress, prepare subsidy documentation, and connect clients with community supports.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required plus three years of experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish/English required.
• Experience in customer or client services required.
• Ability to problem solve and work with a high level of autonomy required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate services and activities to provide program participants with necessary tools to sustain their housing and prevent homelessness.
• Work with the client, household members, supervisors and supplementary staff to execute the service plan.
• Establish goals and actions which address the immediate housing crisis and the underlying causes of the crises.
• Monitor and evaluate program participants progress on the implementation of their service plan.
• Confer client cases with the Supervisor and Program Director and determines the necessity of financial subsidies.
• Prepare all necessary documentation to prepare in-house subsidy applications on behalf of the client.
• Provide referrals for clients to access community supports, public benefits and entitlements.
• Engages in the arrangement, coordination, monitoring and delivery of services to Homebase program participants.
• Ensures that program participants rights are protected.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisors or Program Director.
