Job summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance and operations. This role will step in during the Store Manager’s absence or shifts, guiding the store team to deliver outstanding service to retail and professional customers.

Qualifications

• Must have Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification and RSS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team to provide excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom including related programs (Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.).
• Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed during peak hours.
• Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, and ensuring training is up to date.
• Assist in recruiting tasks, scheduling, interviewing, and collaborating with management to hire qualified team members.
• Ensure telephone is answered according to company policy.
• Process buy online/ship to store, hub and store transfers, and DC add orders; contact customers on shipment arrivals as needed.
• Utilize outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders efficiently and per procedure.
• Ensure returns are processed, refunds issued correctly, and merchandise is properly staged.
• Ensure merchandise, core charges and warranties are invoiced before product leaves the store.
• Communicate Zipline messages, and assign Image Maker and merchandising tasks as directed.
• Ensure team adherence to posted schedules, approvals for deviations, and accurate clocking in/out.
• Perform store opening/closing duties, day end procedures, deposits, and security tasks.
• Assist in maintaining store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, hardware, equipment and delivery vehicles.
• All other duties as assigned.
