Job summary

O’Reilly Auto Parts in Fairbanks, AK is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance and operations. This role will lead the team in the manager’s absence and during opposing shifts, ensuring strong customer interactions.

Qualifications

• Sales Specialist Training and Assistant Manager certification are required.
• RSS Certification and ASE Certification are desirable.
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team in delivering excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise showroom customer service levels and program execution (Hi5, Rock the Call, etc.).
• Work with the store manager to ensure adequate staffing during peak hours.
• Assist in setting team goals, provide feedback, and coach team members.
• Assist in the hiring process, interviews, and candidate evaluation.
• Answer the telephone according to policy and maintain communications.
• Process BOPIS, hub/shipping transfers and DC add orders promptly.
• Manage outside PO ledger and ensure timely handling of special orders.
• Handle returns, refunds, and proper merchandise invoicing before shipment.
• Communicate Zipline messages and delegate merchandising tasks.
• Ensure policy compliance, schedule adherence, and clock-in/out accuracy.
• Perform opening/closing duties, day-end procedures, and security checks.
• Maintain store building, signage, lighting, and delivery vehicles.
