Job summary

The AES Corporation seeks a Solutions Engineer – Systems Integration to advance the electrical, controls, and mechanical integration of battery energy storage systems for utility-scale projects. You will work with senior engineers to ensure safe, reliable operation, and interface compatibility across environments.

Responsibilities include developing requirements, documenting interfaces, supporting verification and field activities, and traveling to project sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• Approximately 2–4 years of relevant engineering experience in BESS, renewable energy, or power systems.
• Foundational knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and system interfaces.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, and BOMs.
• Willingness to travel to factories and project sites (~25%).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to BESS system development and integration from requirements through deployment.
• Review designs, schematics, BOMs, and interfaces; coordinate resolutions.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and verification activities.
• Provide engineering support for integration into utility-scale projects.
• Develop technical guidance, training materials, and work instructions.
• Travel to factories and project sites to support inspections and commissioning.
