Our client is seeking a Bentley CADD Support Specialist to support the implementation, maintenance, testing, and day-to-day use of CADD software and workspaces across the Department.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting Bentley OpenRoads Designer and/or OpenBridge Modeler, along with experience in CADD application support, troubleshooting, workspace implementation, standards, documentation, and business processes. Transportation or public-sector experience is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day CADD application and user support, including troubleshooting issues submitted through ServiceNow.
- Install and configure CADD software for users as needed.
- Assist internal and external users with CADD workspace installation and configuration.
- Support the development, testing, and implementation of CADD software and workspaces.
- Support primarily Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and Bentley OpenBridge Modeler (OBM).
- Provide support for legacy environments and applications, including Bentley InRoads, MicroStation SS2, CAiCE, and Bentley MicroStation.
- Assist in maintaining GDOT engineering software standards, procedures, and technical documentation.
- Develop CADD best practices, how-to guides, workflows, and other user documentation.
- Determine effective ways to use Bentley applications and GDOT workspaces to accomplish engineering design and plan-preparation objectives.
- Document and revise business processes to accommodate new or updated CADD software requirements.
- Assist with developing and conducting CADD software and workspace training sessions.
- Research new and emerging CADD technologies and make recommendations regarding potential implementation.
- Collaborate with Department personnel on CADD software improvements, testing, implementation, and support.
Required Qualifications
- 2–4 years of professional CADD software experience.
- 2–4 years of experience supporting the development, testing, and/or implementation of CADD software.
- 2–4 years of experience documenting or revising business processes related to CADD software requirements.
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following:
- MicroStation SS2
- CAiCE
- Experience troubleshooting CADD software, workspaces, configurations, or user issues.
- Ability to develop clear technical documentation, best practices, workflows, and user guidance.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Highly Preferred
- Public-sector and/or Department of Transportation (DOT) experience.
- Transportation engineering experience or background.
- Experience supporting Bentley CADD environments within transportation or civil engineering organizations.
- Experience developing or delivering CADD software training.
- Python experience is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of Visual Basic is a plus.
