Job summary

Georgia Department of Transportation is seeking a CADD Support Consultant to assist in supporting and implementing CADD software and workspaces, primarily Bentley OpenRoads Designer and OpenBridge Modeler, with some legacy OpenRoads InRoads and MicroStation support.

The role includes day-to-day user support, software installations, workspace development, and training development. Public sector experience is preferred; strong VB and Python skills are advantageous.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years documenting and revising business processes to meet new CADD software requirements.
• 2-4 years' experience in developing, testing, and implementing CADD software.
• 2-4 years' experience with CADD software such as Bentley OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge, InRoads, MicroStation SS2, CAiCE, and Bentley MicroStation.
• Public sector and/or Transportation experience preferred.
• Transportation engineering background is a huge plus.
• Some knowledge of Visual Basic is preferred. Python is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day user support via ServiceNow; troubleshoot user issues.
• Install software for users as needed.
• Assist with external user workspace installation and maintain engineering software standards and documentation.
• Develop and conduct CADD software/workspace training sessions; help develop and run trainings.
• Investigate new and emerging CADD technology and make recommendations for implementation.
• Document and revise business processes to meet new CADD software requirements; develop CADD software best practices.

Under general supervision, analyzes customer business needs and participates in the planning, design and implementation of new or enhanced systems.

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Office if Design & Policy Support s seeking to hire a CADD Support Consultant to assist in the support and implementation of CADD software and workspaces within the Department and assist Department personnel in the development, testing, and implementation of CADD software; primarily Bentley OpenRoads Designer and Bentley OpenBridge Modeler with some need to support legacy workspaces for Bentley InRoads and Microstation SS2, CAiCE, and Bentley MicroStation.

Job Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day user support:

• Troubleshooting user issues submitted via ServiceNow ticketing system
• Software installation as needed for users
• Assist with external user workspace installation Assist in maintaining the Department's Engineering Software standards and documentation: Determining best way to use the Bentley software to achieve design or plan preparation goals or the best way to use the GDOT workspace to achieves these goals. The main development here would be the documentation of best practices (like how-to's or workflows). Develop/conduct CADD software/workspace user training sessions: Experience is preferred but not required. The candidate will be expected to help develop and put on training as needed. Investigate new and emerging CADD technology and make recommendations to Department personnel and management for implementation: Document/revise existing and new business processes to meet new/revised CADD software requirements Develop CADD software best practices Investigate new and emerging CADD technology and make recommendations to Department personnel and management for implementation
