Job summary

Stetson University in DeLand, FL seeks a Benefits Administrator to manage and administer the university’s employee benefits and wellness programs. You will educate employees and retirees on benefit options, resolve issues, and ensure accurate processing of benefit actions.

This role collaborates with the People Operations team to oversee Open Enrollment, COBRA, retiree transactions, and vendor relations, while maintaining the benefits portal and coordinating with campus locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of benefits experience.
• Experience processing a high volume of employee records in an ERP system (Banner/PeopleSoft/Workday/SAP).
• Experience managing multiple inquiries daily with strict deadlines (payroll/billing).
• Experience with outside vendors, customer service, financial transactions, and IT process improvements.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and social media platforms.
• Fluency in Spanish (writing, reading, speaking) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of benefit plans, contracts, and vendor agreements and answer questions from faculty, staff, and administration.
• Manage relationships with benefit providers and vendors, seeking to enhance offerings with new vendors.
• Guide active participants, new employees, and retirees in benefit selections and open enrollment.
• Oversee the benefits portal, monitor elections and changes, and assist with portal navigation.
• Assist with retirements, separations, and COBRA processes; manage exit data and analysis.
• Serve as contact for retiree benefit issues and oversee retiree transactions and premium collection.
• Process and administer all leave types, including disability and FMLA claims; assist with eligibility and paperwork.
• Coordinate annual Open Enrollment and distribute legal notices; manage Benefits and Wellness fairs across campuses.
• Maintain benefits information in Banner for all campuses.
