Job summary

Volunteers of America-Greater New York is seeking a Case Manager/Benefits Specialist to support formerly homeless clients in Permanent Supportive Housing. This role focuses on benefits assessment and advocacy to ensure clients receive the necessary support and resources. The ideal candidate will possess an Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities include conducting assessments, working closely with clients and their health providers, and providing money management coaching. Full-time employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 60 college credits in Human Services field or High School Diploma/GED with 2 years related experience.
• Demonstrated ability in communication and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct benefits assessments and provide education and advocacy to clients.
• Work with clients and providers to document disabilities for SSI/SSD applications.
• Provide money management coaching and connect clients with services.
