Job summary

Atlanta Gas Light is seeking an entry level team member for an above-ground field operations role. You will join a crew responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing gas mains and service lines, including reading meters, performing inspections, and supporting distribution activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of hand tools/equipment.
• Ability to pass basic skills and knowledge assessments.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Field ops experience and welding/ CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently completes customer/compliance orders along a route per company policies and procedures.
• Observes safety requirements and regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance.
• Captures documentation in Mobile Data Terminal; recognizes abnormal conditions.
• Connects/disconnects gas service; turns meters on/off as needed.
• Performs meter reads, inspections, and maintenance of gas systems.
• Performs basic leak tests and assists in distribution activities including digging and pipeline work.
