Job summary

DABS, Inc. in Oceanside, CA seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide individualized support to adults with developmental disabilities in Supported Living Services. The role centers on health and safety oversight and assisting with ADLs to promote independence in home and community.

You will supervise daily activities, assist with bathing, meals, and mobility, and support transportation to appointments while applying Behavior Support Plans and maintaining thorough progress notes.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of direct support for individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Experience with individuals with complex behavioral or mental health needs preferred.
• Proficiency with IPP/ISP and BSPs; background in safety/crisis response.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered supervision in home and community.
• Assist with ADLs: bathing, dressing, meals, hygiene; light housekeeping.
• Supervise medication administration when needed.
• Transport to medical and personal appointments.
• Implement BSPs to prevent de-escalation of incidents.
• Document observations and complete daily logs per standards.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings as needed.
