Job summary

DABS, Inc. in Vista, CA is hiring Direct Support Professionals to provide individualized support to adults with developmental disabilities. You will supervise health and safety, assist with ADLs, and support daily living in home and community settings.

The role emphasizes person-centered care, behavior support plans, and collaboration with families and a multidisciplinary team. Pay ranges $26-$29/hour, plus benefits, with both full-time and part-time opportunities.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience providing direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Proficiency in implementing IPP, ISP and BSPs.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent, person-centered supervision within the individual’s home and community.
• Supervise and provide occasional hands-on support for ADLs, including bathing, toileting, dressing, meals, light housekeeping and laundry.
• Supervise medication administration when needed.
• Accompany and/or transport to medical and personal appointments.
• Implement Behavior Support Plans (BSP) to prevent/de-escalate outbursts or mental health symptoms.
• Apply crisis prevention/intervention techniques during severe episodes to ensure safety.
• Observe and report changes in health, behavior, and environments to the supervisor.
• Complete daily logs and progress notes per DDS/Regional Center standards.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings as needed.
