Job summary

DABS, Inc. in California is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide individualized support to adults with developmental disabilities in Supported Living Services.

You will focus on health and safety, with occasional hands-on assistance with activities of daily living and medication supervision. You will document observations, attend interdisciplinary meetings, and accompany individuals to medical appointments.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and implement care plans.
• Ability to maintain professional ethics, including punctual attendance.
• Ability to provide care with empathy, cultural sensitivity, and respect for personal values.
• Ability to communicate clearly and document observations accurately.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized supervision in home and community settings.
• Support activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, meals, and light housekeeping.
• Supervise medication administration when needed.
• Accompany or transport the individual to medical appointments.
• Observe and report health, behavior, or environmental changes to the supervisor.
• Complete daily logs and progress notes per DDS, Regional Center, and agency standards.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and related activities as needed.
