Job summary

DABS, Inc. is seeking a DSP/Personal Attendant in Oceanside, CA to provide individualized support to adults with developmental disabilities, focusing on health and safety and occasional hands-on ADL assistance.

You will implement Behavior Support Plans, monitor changes, and document progress; travel within the community may be required; background check and TB clearance per policy; CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience providing direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Experience with individuals who have complex behavioral or mental health needs is preferred.
• Proficiency with IPP/ISP and BSPs.
• Training in Safety Care or crisis intervention (e.g., CPI) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent, person-centered supervision within the home and community.
• Supervise and provide occasional hands-on support for ADLs (bathing, toileting, dressing, personal hygiene).
• Assist with meals, feeding, light housekeeping, and laundry.
• Supervise medication administration when needed and accompany to medical appointments.
• Implement BSPs to prevent and de-escalate outbursts or mental health symptoms.
• Apply crisis prevention techniques to ensure immediate safety.
• Observe and report changes in health, behavior, or environment to supervisor.
