Job summary

DABS, Inc. provides comprehensive skills training and supported living services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

We seek a Direct Support Professional to supervise individuals at home and in the community, offering compassionate care and strict safety adherence. You will assist with ADLs, monitor health and behavior, implement BSPs, and accompany individuals to appointments, while documenting progress and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience providing direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Experience with individuals with complex behavioral or mental health needs preferred.
• Proficiency in implementing IPP, ISP and BSPs.
• Training in Safety Care or crisis intervention preferred.
• Ability to maintain professional relationships with families and stakeholders.
• Ability to communicate clearly and document observations.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent, person-centered supervision within the individual’s home and community.
• Supervise and provide hands‑on support for ADLs, including bathing, toileting, dressing, personal hygiene; meals; light housekeeping.
• Supervise medication administration when needed.
• Accompany and transport the individual to medical appointments.
• Implement Behavior Support Plans to prevent de-escalation and manage crises.
• Observe and report changes in health, behavior and environments to the supervisor.
• Complete daily logs and progress notes in compliance with DDS, Regional Center, and agency standards.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and other activities as needed.
