Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking a paraprofessional/behavior aide to support K-12 students with intensive behavioral needs.

You will work one-on-one with assigned students, implement IEP goals, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic guidance and support. You will use PBIS-informed strategies, record progress data, and communicate with parents to ensure consistent student development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience in educational settings with behavioral interventions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with an assigned student to meet goals in the students IEP, providing accommodations as needed.
• Assist in developing and modifying behavior support plans.
• Implement behavior support plans and track data on behaviors, progress toward goals, and incidents.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies to promote positive student outcomes.
• Apply de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and, when necessary, physical restraint to ensure safety.
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment that supports social and behavioral skills development.
• Supervise students and ensure safe transitions to and from locations within the school.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure consistent implementation of plans.
• Provide personal care support as needed based on the students requirements.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
