Job summary

Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System (SBHS) is seeking a Unit Coordinator to manage clerical functions on the nursing unit and support patient care. The role requires flexibility for reassignment across units to serve varied populations and ensure smooth operations.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma and experience with psychiatric patients, along with strong documentation and communication skills. CPR and de‑escalation certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of psychiatric patient care experience preferred.
• Previous administrative experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage Clerical functions on the nursing unit.
• Assist in direct care and management of patients with medical and behavioral issues.
• Assist with unit programming to support therapy, leisure activities and activities of daily living.
• Maintain documentation, organization and time management on the unit.
• Maintain CPR, Verbal De-escalation, and Handle With Care certifications.
