Banyan Treatment Centers in Waelder, TX seeks a compassionate Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support patients during recovery. You will supervise patients, monitor safety, document observations, and report concerns to clinical staff while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes empathetic patient engagement, crisis de-escalation, and assisting with admissions, daily activities, and treatment program participation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/equivalent or higher.
• Minimum age of 21 and ability to meet company motor vehicle insurance requirements; valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required when driving is assigned.
• Experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, and/or mental health settings strongly preferred.
• Experience working in detoxification and/or residential levels of care preferred.
• Behavioral health certification or related education preferred.
• Ability to maintain professionalism, empathy, and composure in high-stress or crisis situations.
• Strong observation, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous patient supervision and safety checks.
• Monitor patient behavior and report concerns to clinical staff.
• Respond to crisis situations using de-escalation techniques.
• Maintain adherence to facility rules and therapeutic environment.
