Job summary

Banyan Treatment Centers is seeking a compassionate Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to provide direct support and supervision within our inpatient programs in Langhorne, PA. You will focus on patient safety, engagement, and daily operational support to foster a structured, therapeutic, and recovery-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/equivalent or higher.
• Minimum age 21 and valid driver’s license when driving is assigned.
• Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or mental health settings preferred.
• Detoxification and/or residential experience preferred.
• Behavioral health certification or related education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous patient supervision and conduct safety checks.
• Monitor patient behavior and document observations; report concerns to clinical staff.
• Respond to crisis situations using de-escalation techniques and follow emergency protocols.
• Ensure adherence to facility rules and therapeutic environment.
• Measure vital signs and perform CLIA-waived testing as trained.
• Supervise self-administration of medications where allowed by policy.
• Observe and report changes impacting safety or progress.
• Support patient engagement in treatment programming and daily routines.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient movement as assigned.
• Communicate patient information to supervisors and treatment team for coordinated care.
• Collaborate with clinical, nursing, medical, and operations staff for safe environment.
