Banyan Treatment Centers is seeking a compassionate Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support inpatient behavioral health, mental health, and substance use treatment programs. The role emphasizes patient safety, engagement, and daily operational support within a structured, therapeutic environment.

The BHT serves as a key team member, spending time with patients to build rapport, observe behaviors, and assist clinical staff through accurate communication and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/equivalent or higher.
• Active addiction related certification is strongly preferred.
• For driving: Minimum age 21 and valid driver's license when assigned.
• Experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, or mental health settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous patient supervision and safety checks.
• Monitor patient behavior and document observations; report concerns to staff.
• Respond to crisis situations using de-escalation techniques and follow protocols.
• Ensure adherence to facility rules and therapeutic environment.
• Measure and document vital signs and perform CLIA-waived tests as trained.
• Supervise self-administration of medications where allowed.
• Assist admissions, discharges, and patient movements.
• Support patient engagement in treatment programming and daily routines.
• Communicate patient information to supervisors and team for coordinated care.
