Cognito LLC, a joint venture with Planned Systems International (PSI), is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to support the ICE Health Services Corps (IHSC) at the T. Don Hutto Detention Center in Taylor, Texas. As a civilian contractor, you will provide high-quality healthcare to individuals in ICE custody, working within a team of healthcare professionals including USPHS officers, civil service staff, and contractors. IHSC specializes in detainee healthcare services.
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides mental health screenings, patient care management, and facilitates psycho-educational groups. Responsibilities include patient education, wellness checks, behavioral observations, compliance coaching, scheduling, documentation, and follow-up care under the supervision of a Behavioral Health Provider (BHP). The BHT also assists with crisis management, conducts mental health screenings, facilitates therapeutic groups, and maintains accurate records.
