Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center in Metairie, LA is seeking a Substance BHT/Driver for our Outpatient Program. You will support clinical staff with admissions, transportation, meals, medication, supervision, and phones while fostering a warm, recovery-focused environment for clients.

Required are a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and CPR certification preferred. If in recovery, at least one year of sobriety is expected; prior treatment experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support to medical and clinical teams (admissions, transportation, meals, medication, supervision, phones).
• Engage and build rapport with clients in a warm, recovery-focused environment.
• Monitor clients and enforce policies for safety of clients and staff.
• Record and escalate critical communications/incidents promptly.
• Fulfill administrative duties (shift documentation, inventory, meetings, office support).
• Coordinate transportation for admit, discharge and appointments.
• Collect and deliver external appointment documents and lab specimens.
• Assist with luggage and peer support during transport.
• Ensure vehicle is maintained, fueled, and ready for use.
