Avenues Recovery Center in Metairie, LA seeks a Substance BHT/Driver for our Outpatient Program. You will support admissions, transport clients, and assist with daily operations to keep services running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and CPR certification preferred.
• In recovery, a minimum one-year period of sustained sobriety required.
• Strong interpersonal and multitasking skills are essential.
• Warm, compassionate and empathetic personality desired.
• Dignified character that models recovery principles.
• Minimum 1-year experience in treatment industry preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of all motor vehicle laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support to medical and clinical teams (admissions, transportation, meals, medication, supervision, phones etc.).
• Engage and build rapport with clients, creating a warm, accepting recovery environment.
• Monitor clients and enforce all policies to ensure safety of clients and staff.
• Record and elevate critical communication/ incidents in a timely manner.
• Fulfill all administrative duties (shift documentation, inventory, meetings, office support etc.).
• Monitor transportation schedule, safely transporting clients for admit, discharge and appointments as necessary.
• Collect and deliver all external appointment documentation and lab specimens as necessary.
• Engage clients on peer support level during transport, and assist with luggage.
• Ensure vehicle is well-maintained, fully fueled, and ready for use.
