Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center, a nationwide network offering outpatient services, is hiring a Substance BHT/Driver for our Metairie, LA program. You will support admissions, transportation, medications, and administrative tasks within a compassionate recovery setting.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, valid driver's license, CPR preferred, and at least one year in the treatment field. We value empathy, reliability, and a strong understanding of motor vehicle laws.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license; CPR certification preferred.
• If in recovery, a minimum one-year period of sustained sobriety required.
• Minimum 1-year experience in treatment industry preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of motor vehicle laws preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support to medical and clinical teams (admissions, transportation, meals, medication, supervision, phones etc.).
• Engage and build rapport with clients, creating a warm, accepting recovery environment.
• Monitor clients and enforce all policies to ensure safety of both clients and staff.
• Record and elevate any critical communication/incidents in a timely manner.
• Fulfill all administrative duties (shift documentation, inventory, meetings, office support etc.).
• Monitor transportation schedule, safely transporting clients for admit, discharge and appointments as necessary.
• Collect and deliver all external appointment documentation and lab specimens as necessary.
• Engage clients on peer support level during transport, and assist with any luggage.
• Ensure vehicle is well-maintained, fully fueled, and ready for use at all times.
