Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center in Metairie, LA is hiring a Substance BHT/Driver to support outpatient operations. You will assist admissions, transport clients, document activities, and help maintain a safe, recovery-focused environment.

The role requires a High School diploma, a valid driver's license, CPR certification preferred, and a minimum of one year in the treatment industry. You’ll work with a dedicated team across daily shifts to ensure smooth service delivery.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required; CPR certification preferred.
• If in recovery, a minimum one-year period of sustained sobriety required.
• Extended knowledge of motor vehicle laws is desirable.
• Minimum 1-year experience in the treatment industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support to medical and clinical teams (admissions, transportation, meals, medication, supervision, phones etc.).
• Engage and build rapport with clients, creating a warm, accepting recovery environment.
• Monitor clients and enforce all policies to ensure safety of clients and staff.
• Record and elevate any critical communication/incidents in a timely manner.
• Fulfill all administrative duties (shift documentation, inventory, meetings, office support).
• Monitor transportation schedule and safely transporting clients for admit, discharge and appointments.
• Collect and deliver all external appointment documentation and lab specimens as necessary.
• Engage clients on peer support level during transport, and assist with any luggage.
• Ensure vehicle is well-maintained, fully fueled, and ready for use.
