Avenues Recovery Center is seeking a Substance BHT/Driver for its Outpatient Program in Metairie, LA. The role supports admissions, transportation, and daily operations to ensure a safe, supportive recovery environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license with CPR certification preferred. If in recovery, a year of sobriety is required; strong interpersonal skills and empathy are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Driver's license and CPR certification preferred.
• If in recovery, a minimum one-year period of sobriety required.
• Strong interpersonal and multitasking skills.
• Warm, compassionate and empathetic personality.
• Dignified character that models recovery principles.
• Minimum 1-year experience in treatment industry preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of all motor vehicle laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support to medical and clinical teams (admissions, transportation, meals, medication, supervision, phones etc.).
• Engage and build rapport with clients, creating a warm, accepting recovery environment.
• Monitor clients and enforce all policies to ensure safety of both clients and staff.
• Record and upscale any critical communication/incidents in a timely manner.
• Fulfill all administrative duties (shift documentation, inventory, meetings, office support).
• Monitor transportation schedule, safely transporting clients for admit, discharge and appointments as necessary.
• Collect and deliver all external appointment documentation and lab specimens as necessary.
• Engage clients on peer support level during transport, and assist with any luggage.
• Ensure vehicle is well-maintained, fully fueled, and ready for use at all times.
