Allegheny Health Network is seeking a dedicated care provider for the psychiatric unit. You will work under RN supervision to deliver quality patient care, perform regular checks, document outcomes, and support patients’ daily activities.

The role emphasizes safety, confidentiality, and collaborative teamwork in a fast-paced hospital setting. The position requires a HS diploma or GED, basic experience, CPR certification, and clear background checks.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 months related experience or training acceptable.
• CPR certification required (American Heart Association).
• Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 background clearances required.
• Nonviolent crisis intervention within 6 months.

Aufgaben

• Perform 15-minute patient checks and document findings.
• Communicate pertinent information to staff.
• Respond promptly to signal lights, bells, or intercom.
• Assist with showering, dressing, grooming, and supervision during activities.
• Assist feeding and monitor food intake; document rejections.
• Observe patients and apply diversionary activities; assist with restraint per protocol if needed.
• Transport patients and assist with mobility.
• Turn and reposition bedbound patients to prevent bedsores.
• Run errands, direct visitors, answer phones.
• Take and record vital signs and ADLs; document per department standards.
• Perform and document Point of Care testing per protocol and credentialing.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and respect patient rights.
• Recognize limitations and seek assistance.
• Maintain a clean, safe patient room/care area.
• Encourage rehabilitation activities and participation in routine hospital life.
• Attend unit conferences and mandatory education; participate in training.
