Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to provide direct patient care, assist with nursing procedures and support unit coordination. The role requires teamwork, adherence to HIPAA, and accurate EMR documentation. Expect a full-time, rotational schedule including days, evenings, and weekends.

Able to participate in two weeks of training, read/write in English, and perform basic math as part of daily tasks. CPR certification and background clearances are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be able to attend 2 weeks of training.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Preferred acute care experience within last 3 years.
• Currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program with clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provide and document direct patient care activities (ADLs, vital signs, mobility, feeding).
• Assist with nursing procedures and care of acutely ill patients as needed.
• Maintain infection control practices and protect patient privacy.
• Support unit activities: admissions, discharges, transfers, and supplies.
• Maintain accurate charting in the electronic medical record (EMR).
