Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Part-Time Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under RN supervision in a stable patient population. You will perform daily living activities, monitor vitals, and document in the electronic medical record, while supporting unit operations and patient flow.

We value candidates with strong communication, a commitment to patient dignity, and the ability to work a 24-hour-per-week rotational schedule including day, evening, and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 weeks of training for limited/no experience.
• Ability to read, write and follow instructions.
• Basic mathematics skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Acute care experience in last 3 years preferred.
• Currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program; associates or bachelor's nursing programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care activities such as ADLs, vital signs, ambulation, I&O, and specimen collection.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives, bedside shift report, rounding, and safety protocols.
• Accurately documents vitals, I&O, and treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Assists with unit activities like supply stocking and equipment cleaning and retrieval.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
