Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) in Brighton is seeking a Registered Nurse for 24 hours weekly night shift at 5 West. You will deliver inpatient behavioral health nursing care, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the care team to ensure safe, evidence-based practice.

The position requires MA RN licensure, a Diploma/ASN/BSN, BLS, and 1+ year inpatient behavioral health experience; EHR proficiency is preferred, with strong communication and physical stamina essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in Massachusetts.
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN; BSN preferred; BSN within 4 years.
• 1+ years of inpatient behavioral health RN experience.
• Certification in basic life support (BLS).
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR).
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
• Basic computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the inpatient behavioral health setting, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
• Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects.
