Job description

Front Desk - Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic

Entune Behavioral Health is an outpatient group offering individual, couples, and family therapy, along with other behavioral health services in Arizona.

Role and Responsibilities

The Front Desk serves as a key point of contact for therapeutic services within the organization. BHTs are responsible for coordinating patient care, assessing patient conditions, and establishing treatment goals in collaboration with licensed clinicians. They monitor progress, coordinate plan adjustments, and act as liaisons among patients, families, and providers. Additional practical support may include handling insurance inquiries, financial/resource planning, and goal setting. BHTs must work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating dedication to the mission of the quadruple aim and collaborating closely with internal staff, clients, payors, and stakeholders. Their work is guided by evidence-based treatments and population health principles.

Front Desk Responsibilities
  • Maintaining confidentiality of records in accordance with HIPAA
  • Assessing risk of harm to self and others
  • Managing client-related paperwork (billing, BH screeners, progress notes, contact notes, etc.)
  • Evaluating physical and/or mental conditions through staffing with the treatment team
  • Observing clients
  • Participating in quality management efforts
  • Attending relevant behavioral health case meetings
  • Referring clients to community resources and internal services as needed
  • Engaging in population health and evidence-based measures to improve client outcomes

Additional duties include greeting and scheduling patients, appointment reminders, call routing, transactions, managing medical records, referrals, prior authorizations, provider communication, eligibility verification, triaging mental health and primary care needs, faxing, scanning, and organizing paperwork. The role requires frequent interaction with patients, medical professionals, and staff, necessitating excellent communication skills and a personable demeanor.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, sociology, or related field (preferred)
  • Relevant work experience may substitute for formal education, pending verification
  • Experience working with children and adolescents (preferred)
  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)
  • Current CPR, AED, First Aid certification (required)
  • Current DPS Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card (required)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and electronic health records (EHR)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of integrated healthcare models (preferred)
