Job summary

The Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) in Delaware seeks a Behavioral Health Administrator I to oversee DSAMH’s Transitional Case Management programs and ensure high-quality service delivery across inpatient and community settings. You will supervise staff, monitor performance, analyze data, and support policy and procedure implementation.

You will coordinate with internal teams and community partners, ensure documentation and reporting standards are met, and assist with client care

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Public Administration, Public Policy, Behavioral, Social or Health Science or related field.
• Six months experience in grant management and control including monitoring and evaluating grant expenditures.
• Knowledge of contract management and control including ensuring compliance with terms of contracts; negotiating changes.
• Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through course work, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others.

Responsibilities

• Oversee behavioral health programs and operational support services.
• Ensure regulatory, certification and accreditation standards are met.
• Research and evaluate behavioral health programs to identify trends and issues.
• Recommend improvements to strengthen treatment and prevention efforts.
• Develop and implement strategies, policies and standards related to treatment and service systems.
• Monitor fiscal activities for behavioral health programs and contracted providers.
• Coordinate public and private behavioral health services to reduce duplicate services.
• Analyze state, federal and local legislation impacts on operations.
• Disseminate information regarding urgent substance use and mental health concerns.
• Review and interpret statistical, narrative, analytical and financial reports.
