Job summary

Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) in Delaware seeks a Behavioral Health Case Manager III to provide day-to-day guidance, supervise staff, and coordinate complex cases within the Eligibility and Enrollment Unit. You will review medical necessity, coordinate services, and ensure timely access to care while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Behavioral or Social Science or related field.
• Three years' experience in case management which includes assessing, planning, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating options and services.
• Three years' experience in providing clinical treatment, counseling or determining eligibility for services or benefits as part of a treatment team.
• Six months' experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
• Six months' experience in narrative report writing.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the operation of a case management unit by assigning, monitoring, and reviewing work of staff and providing on-the-job training and direction.
• Refers or assigns cases to the appropriate unit or staff for effective service delivery; ensures quality of services.
• Provides consultation to staff to enable them to intervene in crisis situations or handle explosive situations.
• Participates as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to formulate or evaluate treatment plans.
• May supervise two or more merit full-time positions and handle supervision duties such as planning, assigning, and evaluating staff.
