Job summary

DePaul Community Health Center in New Orleans, LA is seeking a Behavioral Health Patient Access Representative to greet patients, schedule visits, and manage front-desk operations. You will enter and update patient records in the electronic health record, verify insurance, assist with patient portals, collect payments, and coordinate with the financial counselor as needed.

This full-time role requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work across multiple sites

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in a health care business office setting.
• 1 year of cash handling or payment posting experience.
• Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
• Experience working with a diverse population.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and process admissions and registrations.
• Schedule new and follow-up appointments; contact no-shows for rescheduling.
• Enter and update patient demographics, insurance, and financial information in the EHR.
• Verify patient insurance at point of service and educate on the patient portal.
• Handle incoming calls, route messages, and assist with appointments as needed.
• Maintain patient records and coordinate with the medical records department.
• Refer patients to financial counseling as appropriate.
• Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with center policies.
