Job summary

Southeast Behavioral Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, seeks an Intake RN to perform telephonic and in‑person risk assessments guiding appropriate care levels. You will coordinate referrals, intake processes, and admissions while maintaining communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff.

The role collaborates with the Business Office on financial data, verification and insurance prior authorizations, and with the UR department for patient certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; Missouri RN license required.
• 2–3 years in substance abuse/psychiatric settings preferred.
• CPR, Handle with Care and verbal de‑escalation training within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephonic and in‑person risk assessment to identify appropriate level of care.
• Coordinate referral, intake, admissions, and communicate with families and staff.
• Collaborate with Business Office for patient financial data and prior authorization.
• Work with UR department for certification of admitted patients.
