Job summary

Southridge Behavioral Hospital is seeking an Intake RN to perform telephonic and in-person risk assessments to help determine the appropriate level of care for potential patients. The role includes coordinating referrals and admissions, and maintaining communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff.

The Intake RN works with the Business Office on patient financial data, verifies insurance benefits, and collaborates with the UR Department for admissions authorization.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the State of Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephonic and in-person risk assessment to identify appropriate level of care.
• Coordinate referral and intake process; facilitate admission and communicate with families and staff.
• Work with Business Office on patient financial data and insurance verification; assist UR for authorization.
