Job summary

Central Florida Behavioral Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, in Orlando, FL, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the intake and admissions team. You will handle inquiry calls, coordinate with referrals, assess mental health status, and document in Med Series 4.

Responsibilities include verifying insurance, coordinating with unit staff and physicians, and adhering to EMTALA guidelines to identify high-risk individuals seeking emergency care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (required).
• Minimum One (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse (required). Six (6) months expereince in psychiatric nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Requests clinical information on potential patients.
• Initiates verification of insurance coverage to determine viability of insurance for individuals seeking admission.
• Coordinates admissions with all necessary unit staff and Physician.
• Follows EMTALA regulations and identifies high risk individuals presenting for emergency care
