Job summary

The Intake RN at Southeast Behavioral Hospital under Universal Health Services will perform telephonic and in-person risk assessments to help determine the appropriate level of care for potential patients. You will coordinate referrals, admissions, and stay in close contact with referral sources and families.

Requirements include a nursing degree, Missouri licensure, CPR and de-escalation training. Weekend/holiday coverage may be required, with PRN hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• 2-3 years in substance abuse/psychiatric treatment programs, including intake/admissions and managed care preferred.
• Currently licensed to practice by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.
• CPR certification, Handle with Care and Verbal De-Escalation training within 30 days of employment.
• May be required to work flexible hours, weekends, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephonic and in-person risk assessment to identify appropriate level of care.
• Coordinate the referral and intake process and assist in admissions.
• Maintain communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff.
